LANGEGG | ST. STEFAN OB STAINZ | WESTSTEIERMARK | ÖSTERREICH

LOCATION & TERROIR

THE CHARACTER – OF PEOPLE AND WINE – IS SHAPED BY ITS ROOTS AND THE CARE IN DEALING WITH EACH OTHER

On around eight hectares of vineyards – in the middle of West Styrian Schilcherland – we only cultivate the “Blauer Wildbacher” grape variety. The terroir around St. Stefan ob Stainz is characterized by tertiary and crystalline weathering and lime-free primary rock soil. T he roots of our vines reach deep into the soil and are influenced by the nutrients of the millennia-old rock layers. The somewhat cooler climate at an average altitude of 570 meters brings the wines from our top locations in Langegg, Kirchberg and Pirkhofberg additional brilliant finesse, a fruity aroma, convincing acidity and a deep mineral character.
